Focus Group On Draft One Of Bonfire

We decided to show our first draft of Bonfire to a focus group to see what they could give us as feedback. We asked what their favourite and least favourite parts of the music video were and why. From this we learned that our target audience enjoyed the scenes related to the bonfire and to the smoke grenades (both the lip syncing and the BMX part), along with the band sequences and the zoom effect that we used on the woodland pathway. The main thing we drew from what people didn't like was that the ending doesn't 'make-sense' or 'fit' the tone of the video - which is something we have already identified as a group so it was good to have our opinion solidified by our audience. Joe also stated that he didn't like the fight scene - which we are going to look at altering. We then asked whether they liked the mix of performance and narrative and the feedback was wholesomely positive except that we needed some more lip syncing.
