Location List
For our Music Video, we want to use a multitude of different locations so that the cinematography doesn't get boring over the 3 and a half minutes it will be shown for. We have some locations that we need to film at due to the narrative; but there are some places we want to go to in order to get some really attractive shots. Here is the full list of the locations we are planning to visit;
House (Bedroom, other rooms, outside at front)
In our narrative, a house/'home' is needed to reflect the relationship aspect of our story. We have a couple of scenes to film inside the house, one of which being in the bedroom, another in a kitchen or lounge (when the two main characters are having an argument) and finally when the character leaves the house and looks back at it remorsefully. We have chosen to film at Jordan's house as it is the best looking house and isn't messy (so we don't need to tidy up).
Park (with long woodland pathway)
This is going to be used for the smooth zoom transition shot, due to its aesthetic nature. We needed a long path that could be seen all the way down. For this bit of filming we have chosen to use Shenfield Common as there is a path around four hundred metres long that would be perfect for this shot.
High building/ Car Park (long views)
For some of our shots we needed to find some high ground with a long view of the landscape. We thought of a couple of ideas but decided on using Brentwood's multi-storey car park. This is because it gives a wide shot of a natural landscape that then falls into London in the distance. This shot is going to be used for a time lapse and for the arc shot of the two characters.
London (Camden, Thames, Populated Areas)
For some filling shots in our music video we wanted to go up to London for a day and get as much footage as possible. We wanted to go to some recognisable landmarks; such as the London Eye, Tower Bridge or Camden Town. We also wanted to go onto the Thames bank and film there. Finally we needed to get the shot where the crowd moves around our character; so we needed somewhere densely populated. The best idea would be to do this at Liverpool Street Station.
Train Platform
For this shot we needed a train platform where the trains do not stop; just go past at high speed. This would allow for us to film the transition where the train crosses over our characters. We could film this somewhere like Romford or Brentwood (on the same day as we film the London footage).
Open Field
This is where we are going to film the band footage. The easiest place to do this is my front garden as it is pretty open, surrounded by trees, and flat. We would set up all the band equipment there and then film what we needed to do.
Bonfire Pit
This is where we can safely film the bonfire scene. We chose to use the pit inside Thorndon Country Park as my parents have access to it and can help us prepare and use it safely. The pit is enclosed in a circlet of trees; which will look really cool in our video.
