Auditions For Main Characters

-Who We Need-

For our music video we are focusing on two characters, with the rest of the rolls outside of the drummer for the band being filled by members of our group. The two main characters are in a relationship and as a result they need to have somewhat of a visual chemistry. We decided to utilize this through looking at people who are already friends. Due to the way we want to blend narrative and performance, we decided to have our lead singer as our main character - to create synergy between the two aspects of the video. As a result of this, we had to find someone who was willing to participate in both roles. We needed someone who looked cool but could also be seen as someone who would fit into a relationship - we couldn't use someone who looked stereo-typically like a 'jock'. We also needed someone with a passion for acting and who could lip sync. For the second character we needed the same characteristics - without the ability to lip sync. 

-Jordan Diver-

The best audition that we conducted was with Jordan Diver, who wanted to play the role of the main character/lead singer. We decided he was a viable candidate due to the fact that he will always be available, due to his commitment to the group, but also because he has a passion for acting and is able to lip sync pretty well. He also fits the visual aesthetic for the character and we could imagine him playing the character he is portraying, which I thought was very key. 

-Jack Bacon-

After choosing Jordan Diver as our lead singer, we then needed to cast someone who would have good chemistry with him and would work well with him on set. As a  result we decided to go with Jack Bacon, due to the fact they are friends and Jack has an interest in playing the role. We asked him to act in is audition, which we were pretty impressed with, but he really shone inside the interview. 

-The Verdict-

In conclusion, after a multitude of auditions - which we unfortunately lost the footage for - we have chosen to cast Jordan Diver as the main character/ lead singer of the band and Jack Bacon as the secondary role of the main character's boyfriend. Hopefully we will not regret our decision.
